In the midst of his search, Dr. Schultz crosses paths with Django (Academy Award-winner Jamie Foxx), a freed slave and skilled tracker who seeks to rescue his beloved wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) from ruthless plantation owner Calvin Candie (Academy Award-nominee Leonardo DiCaprio). Once Django has aided Dr. Schultz in coral ling the Brittle brothers, the two team up to capture some of the most wanted men in the South. Meanwhile, Django never loses sight of his mission to free Broomhilda from the treacherous slave trade before it's too late. Upon arriving at Candie's nefarious plantation, dubbed Candyland, Django and Dr. Schultz discover that slaves are being groomed for gladiator-like competitions by Candie's malevolent right-hand man Billy Crash (Walton Goggins), and together they skillfully work their way onto the compound for a closer look. But just as Django and his partner locate Broomhilda and plot a daring escape, Candie's house slave Stephen (Academy Award-nominee Samuel L. Jackson) catches wind of their plan, and informs his master of the betrayal. Now, as a clandestine organization attempts to back them into a corner, Django and Dr. Schultz will have to come out with pistols blazing if they ever hope to free Broomhilda from Candyland and the clutches of its vile proprietor

Django Tsunagarezaru Mono movie maker.

Overall I am a HUGE Tarantino fan, Pulp Fiction being one my favorite movies of all time. Sadly, I feel he's starting to lose his touch by playing into the "uber-violence" persona he's built up for himself in Hollywood with his recent movies.

This movie is almost perfect - and it could be, it has the right amount of drama, action and comedy to make it a masterpiece. Sadly, however, there are two scenes which ruin it: 1. The scene where two slaves are killing each other by beating each other to death while our heroes are calmly conversing/negotiating with the villain 2. The dog attack scene

Both are WAAY too over the top.

These two scenes were so over-done and violent that they spoiled the entire movie for me. Being a fan of Tarantino, I've come to expect that there will be some rough violence, but there needs to be a limit (unless you're creating a slasher/horror flick.

It was simply too much, to the point of being gross and disturbing - especially for a western/comedy/action flick.

Pick your genre. At some point enough is enough, and we GET the point. there's no need to splash images of blood, gore and listen to countless minutes of torturous screams that could have be done quickly and tastefully.

I understand wanting to show the horror of the slave situation, but again - there is a point where it's done right, and when it's grossly (pun intended) over-done.

I write this review to those who are expecting a comedy/western/action movie with dramatic undertone. You will be entertained, and you will be disturbed by unnecessary violence and gore usually reserved for slasher/horror/snuff films.
